The nineties was definitely a strange time. I think about how things are now and all the access we have to anything we want at any given moment and how limited we were back then. To kill time we used to just ride our bikes all around town because we had nothing better to do. If we ever went somewhere and needed to be picked up, we had to use 1-800 collect and tell our parents to pick us up instead of saying our names. When you wanted to rub one out you had really one of two options. Either you found your dad’s Playboys or you had to watched scrambled Spice channel or scrambled playboy channel. If you were really lucky your parents had HBO or Cinemax and you were able to watch that late at night with the volume low hoping your parents didn’t walk in. With no Netflix we had to go to Blockbuster hoping the movie we wanted wasn’t rented out yet. Yes there were the small pleasures of the nineties but it’s only nostalgia because it’s the past, I prefer the access and all in all, the nineties really sucked in many ways. I’ll take my smartphone, access to porn and Netflix over the nineties any day of the week.
